• In an orientation situation and under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, initially performs the less skilled work of clinical nursing practice and then progresses to independent performance of skilled nursing care procedures through performance evaluations.
• Performs ongoing observations, assessments, and Nursing actions to identify patient needs utilizing sound professional judgment and Graduate Nurse-level expertise.
• The Graduate Nurse role is organized and conducted as an orientation program with a maximum duration of forty-five (45) days.
• The Graduate Nurse will automatically promote to the classification of General Duty Nurse upon successful completion of the Michigan Registered Nurses Licensing Examination.
• Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards.
• Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior.
• Works under the direct supervision of a departmental/unit manager or designee who assigns areas of responsibility and reviews results for compliance with established standards.
