The Direct Support Professional will support the individual goals of the person served, assisting with mobility, daily living activities, communication, and health management to foster community integration. Responsibilities include ensuring 24/7 safety, supporting crisis intervention, assisting with personal care, and facilitating participation in social and leisure activities.
Candidates must possess a strong desire to help others with empathy, patience, and dedication, exhibiting trustworthiness and professionalism in all interactions. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED, a valid State of Michigan driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and basic computer skills.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
