The primary purpose of the Trained Medication Assistant is to maintain an accurate and up-to-date pharmacy database, which involves processing medication orders, coordinating schedules, and managing medication changes for participants. This role also includes handling the ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and discontinuation of medications, along with maintaining all required administration documentation.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school education and have completed a state-approved training program for medication administration, receiving the corresponding certificate. Additionally, applicants are required to be a registered or certified nursing assistant in long-term care and have at least one year of experience working with frail or elderly populations.
