The primary purpose of the TMA is to administer prescribed medications and limited topical treatments to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, while also performing routine delegated resident care duties to meet physical and psychosocial needs. This role requires maintaining all required documentation for medication and treatment administration and promptly reporting any noted changes in the resident's condition.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and be registered or certified as a nursing assistant. Completion of a state-approved training program in medication administration with a certificate is also required, along with effective communication skills and the ability to make independent, delegated decisions when necessary.
