The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for implementing standards of care for speech language pathology services, conducting evaluations, establishing plans of care, and administering therapy programs using specialized techniques. They must also confer with physicians and personnel to ensure coordinated care and maintain clinical competency.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required, though a Master's is preferred, along with 1+ years of experience. Candidates must possess strong listening, observation, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills, and must maintain necessary certifications like CPR and ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Conducts appropriate evaluation, assesses home environment as appropriate, identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function. Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function. Administers speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic technique and/ or equipment. Recommends communication devices and aids as indicated. Confers with referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care. Participates in case conferences, Inservice and other meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Prepares and submits notes per organization policy. Maintains clinical competency in speech language pathology practice and theory. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology Preferred Degree: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology Certificate(s): CPR Certification, if required by State and Certification of clinical competence in speech language pathology granted by the American speech language hearing association (ASHA).
Ability to stand, sit, talk, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs. Ability to operate various equipment base on department. The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes or alarms. Four hearing requirements listed: In person speech, Telephone, Other remote speech and other sounds. Clarity of Vision: For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers. For far visual acuity, Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well. For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. Compensation Pay Range: $38.74 - $54.51 per hour Reasonable Pay Estimate A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $38.74 - $54.51 per hour.
