The technologist will assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization/electrophysiology lab, overseeing cardiac imaging procedures and providing direct patient care. Responsibilities also include preparing the lab, setting sterile fields, maintaining aseptic techniques, and managing post-procedure care.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Radiology (Bachelor's preferred) and demonstrate competency in Cath Lab/EP Lab technologies, anatomy, and physiology. Required abilities include strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in EMR/hemodynamic systems within three months, and the capacity to work under stressful conditions.
Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and promote interdisciplinary collaborative teamwork, including in emergent situations. Maintains effective working relations and communication with the department and other hospital personnel. - Must possess strong analytical and organizational abilities necessary to perform multiple diagnostic tasks. - Must demonstrate proficiency in the electronic medical record system and the hemodynamic system within 3 months. - Ability to identify and diagnose potential problems with patients or equipment, adapts priorities and plans independently with minimal direction. Escalate appropriately to leadership or the vendor as required. - Must be able to promote a customer/patient-oriented philosophy among all staff within the area. - Must use independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in a variety of situations when assisting with patient procedures. - Must be able to work under extremely stressful conditions. - Must be able to understand and operate required equipment and information systems, including, but not limited to, Mobile Aspects, Syngo dynamics, x-ray, biomedical hemodynamic system, catheter-based ultrasound, and additional modalities. - Must be physically capable of lifting (linen, supplies, patients, etc.). - Must have the ability to work with adult, elderly patients, and critically ill patients. Must have the ability to work productively in emergency situations, such as cardiac and respiratory codes, and on-call situations.
