The role involves supervising sibling and/or family visits, assisting caseworkers with administrative tasks like referrals and documentation gathering, and providing direct support through counseling and crisis intervention to children and families.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid NYS Driver’s License, with experience working with the I/DD population being preferred. Strong computer skills are also preferred for this position.
Externally: interacts with NYC Administration for Children’s Services, school systems, other community-based organizations
Internally: interfaces with other team members
Ability to set limits and maintain helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately.
Requires occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate family visits, service plan reviews and crisis intervention. Agency vehicles are available for driving, subject to DMV check of caseworker’s driving record.
Responsible for meeting the stated requirements of the position.
Works within the structure of the Residential Treatment Center as that relates to the overall agency organization
