Candidates must possess a Doctoral Degree and hold a Licensed Psychologist certification or license. The role requires specialization in the neurobiological causes of brain disorders, focusing on a medical approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Neuropsychologist - Pediatric/Lifespan Geisinger is seeking a pediatric/lifespan neuropsychologist for a full-time position specializing in neuropsychological assessment of children, with opportunity to provide evaluation with adult/older adult populations pending interest and clinical need. This position is within the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and services, with referrals coming from a variety of specialties including Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Developmental Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Physical Medicine. There are opportunities to provide neuropsychological services for children and families with epilepsy, cancer, traumatic brain injury, metabolic disorders, genetic disorders, and cognitive sequelae of perinatal issues. There is opportunity for psychometrist support depending on clinician interest and volume. Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests as needed. Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness. May prescribe or administer medications. Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that include patients' histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
