The Patient Care Technician assists patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating, while observing progress and reporting findings to nursing or medical staff. Responsibilities also include obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, performing basic transport, and assisting with technical procedures like feeding tube administration and ECGs.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and must have completed CNA or PCT certification, or be in the senior year of nursing school with less than one semester remaining. Active certification within the State of Texas and BLS certification within 14 days of hire are mandatory.
