The Patient Care Assistant provides nursing care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse, involving activities like assisted daily living, light housekeeping, and maintaining stocked patient care areas. Responsibilities also include documenting patient interactions, discussing care plans with the RN, managing patient flow, and cleaning rooms post-discharge.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a BLS Certification; direct patient care experience is preferred but not required. A PA Nurse Aide Certification is specifically required if hired for the Transitional Sub-Acute Unit (TSU) at Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
