Job description

SA Peer Support Specialist - Adult Outpatient Services (Certified Recovery Support Specialist - CRSS) This position is located at our Adult Outpatient Service in Dothan, Al Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8am - 5pm & Tuesday/Thursday 10am - 7pm

Responsibilities

Providing peer support services for clients with substance use disorders
Working directly with consumers at AOS to promote wellness from substance abuse disorder
Facilitating peer support groups / self-help groups
Travel may be required

Requirements

HS Diploma/GED
Must have personally experienced substance abuse
Must successfully complete Certified Peer Specialist training and exam upon hire
Possess a valid Driver License with good MVR
Must meet insurability requirements to drive a system vehicle (21 years of age).

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a mental illness or related field
Previously completed Certified Peer Specialist training and exam with ADMH
