Deliver excellent, individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team using evidence-based medicine. Facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience within the Mother/Baby and Special Care Nursery units.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license and BLS certification. Experience in OB, Nursery, or Pediatrics is preferred, and specific certifications like NRP and STABLE must be completed post-orientation.
Graduate from a state accredited school of professional nursing. Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license required. For Staff Registered Nurse positions within specialty area, prior employment experience in the appropriate clinical setting is preferred. OB/Nursery/pediatric experienced preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Special Care Nursery RNs shall complete NRP within 3 months of orientation and STABLE within 6 months of nursery orientation. Orientation to include portions of NOEP (AWHONN'S Neonatal Orientation Education Program) Training Program and shadowing of the NNP's assigned. Responsible to maintain nursery competencies and annual education requirements. CONTINUING EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Position requires RN to be familiar with hospital and department policies and procedures, accepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department service work, and familiarity with the medial staff. This knowledge is normally acquired through 1-3 months of orientation time. Must maintain current nursing knowledge and BLS certification and required CEU’s for relicensure.
