The Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by a physician, which includes monitoring mechanical ventilation and performing patient assessments. Essential functions involve the competent delivery of various respiratory care procedures across the hospital, maintaining accurate documentation, and managing respiratory equipment.
Candidates must possess the required Respiratory Therapy education and maintain current state licensure along with Certified credentialing from the NBRC, including current BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred experience is one year, and the role requires the ability to work under stress, respond quickly in emergencies, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients.
Education Respiratory Therapy education as required for attainment of credentialling by the National Board for Respiratory Care Licenses/Certification Current Respiratory Therapy license from the appropriate state licensing body Current Certified credential in compliance with the National Board for Respiratory Care Credential Maintenance Program (CMP) Current BLS and ACLS certifications Experience 1 years’ experience preferred
