The Occupational Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, establishes plans of care based on physician orders, and provides direct care while assessing and meeting the educational needs of patients and their caregivers. They are also responsible for planning discharges and communicating effectively with the healthcare team to maximize patient benefit.
Candidates must possess current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained during orientation if necessary. Essential physical requirements include the ability to read, write, and converse in English, communicate effectively, and physically manage patients, occasionally lifting 50 to 100 pounds.
