The Medical Technologist performs routine and special laboratory assays on patient specimens and evaluates the validity of test results. They also communicate with healthcare professionals regarding test procedures and results.
Candidates must have an associate degree in laboratory science or equivalent training and experience. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, MLT certification, and at least one year of laboratory experience.
Locations: 228 Billerica Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824 Department: Laboratory Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 9:30am – 6:00pm. Rotating Weekends and Holidays
Under general supervision, performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens (e.g., body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings or surgical specimens), exercising independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to result reporting Provides data for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization, evaluates the validity of laboratory data, records tests results, communicates with physicians, pathologists and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results

Associates degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in CLIA regulations
Bachelor degree in any discipline or equivalent from an accredited institution Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), by the ASCP or equivalent certification (those without Certification are typically expected to become certified within 6 months of date of hire). Will also accept certifications meeting the federal requirements of CLIA 88 1+ years of laboratory experience Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex clinical and instrument problems Accurate, reliable, and able to work well under pressure and to finish a task once started Solid communication skills, both in writing and speaking
