Veterinary Assistants/Technicians are responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients while maximizing clinic productivity, which includes assisting veterinarians with examinations and procedures. Essential functions also involve performing diagnostic imaging, maintaining medical records, administering treatments, and professionally communicating basic diagnoses to pet owners.
Candidates must possess at least six months of prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, with Veterinary Technician licensure being preferred. Required competencies include knowledge of lab procedures, medical records, SOAP notes, reading fecal floats and cytology, and proficiency in phlebotomy and various injections.
