The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) primarily supports nursing personnel by performing direct patient care duties, including taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities also involve maintaining a clean unit environment, stocking supplies, operating equipment, and performing routine clerical tasks as directed.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and hold a current, active CNA certification in California, along with AHA Basic Life Support certification. A minimum of one year of paid experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting is desired, and the applicant must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Description The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) aids professional and technical nursing personnel primarily by accomplishing a variety of duties and procedures which are directly related to patient care. Primary duties include taking and recording vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, ensuring the safety of the patient, and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment. Assists with stocking unit supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, performing routine clerical tasks, and assisting with other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) Current and active CNA certification in California AHA Basic Life Support Understanding of basic medical terminology Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Strong interpersonal, customer service, and patient-care skills; ability to work as part of a team and follow nursing supervision. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality Must be physically able to perform the tasks of CNA patient care: lifting/transferring patients, assisting with ADLs, standing/walking for shifts.
