The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for executing all Respiratory Care procedures within both general and critical care environments. This role supports patient care in a hospital setting.
Candidates must possess an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy and be licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Required certifications include current ACLS, and specific certifications like PALS or NRP are needed depending on the assignment area.
The Respiratory Therapist RRT is responsible for performing all Respiratory Care procedures in the general and critical care settings.
High School (or GED equivalent) diploma. Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Current ACLS certification. (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist verified through NBRC. Assignment to the ER or Pedi must have current PALS. Assignment to the NICU must have a current NRP.
