The resident physician is primarily responsible for obtaining the knowledge and experience necessary to progress to independent medical practice by providing direct and indirect patient care in hospital and outpatient settings. Responsibilities also include developing a self-study program, participating in institutional activities, and completing required research and scholarly activities.
The minimum education requirement is a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or equivalent, and candidates must obtain BLS certification within 4 days of hire. The role requires participation in patient care under supervision while developing professional growth and adhering to all institutional policies and ethical standards.
Provide direct and indirect patient care in various healthcare settings including in-hospital and outpatient clinics. Primary responsible is to obtain knowledge and experience necessary to progress to independent medical practice without direct supervision.
