The Medical Assistant facilitates communication between the patient and provider, handles patient preparation duties including rooming and documenting vitals, and manages administrative tasks like data entry into the EMR. Responsibilities also include maintaining exam room standards, monitoring biohazard waste, and assisting with prescription and form completion.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or possess a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred for this full-time role.
Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care: o Collect and shares pertinent information with the provider o Receives and acts on directives from the provider · Responsible for preparing the patient for visit with the provider.
include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, removing the dressing, procedure set-up, injection prep, accurate data entry into EMR. · Responsible for completing tasks associated with Company initiatives such as PROs, Quality Payment Programs, etc. · Maintains exam room standards. Rooms should be restocked at the end of each clinic day. Rooms and tables should be cleaned as needed during the clinic and at the end of each day. · Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace them as needed. · Assist the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (i.e. work release, FMLA, etc.). · Retrieves and responds to voicemails within 24 business hours and documents actions in EMR. · Prepares patient electronic charts for clinic visits before the date of service. · Verify any outstanding testing results are in EMR, confirm the appropriateness of the patient to the provider (body part and/or insurance), note imaging, DME, or casting needed before provider visit on the date of service. · Scans clinical documents into EMR. · Print clinic schedules on the morning of the date of service. · Ensures patient receives education as indicated by the provider. · Manages EMR desktops of assigned providers promptly. · Create and promote a positive patient experience · Maintain HIPAA compliant environment · Maintain clean workspace
EDUCATION · Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
EXPERIENCE · Medical Assistant experience is preferred
