Direct Support Professional / DSP

Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Meal Preparation: Preparing meals, feeding client/s, and ensuring proper nutrition.
• Light Housekeeping / Housekeeping: Cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a clean & safe surrounding.
• Social & Life skills: Helping clients with vocational, social, and life skills.
• Companionship & ADLs Support: Providing emotional and physical support, engaging in conversation, assisting with behavioral support plans, and supporting clients with activities of daily living while encouraging independence.
• Transportation: Assisting with transportation to doctor’s appointments, errands, or social activities.
• Medical Services: Providing medication reminders, monitoring vital signs, assisting with simple activities, and monitoring client’s progress on individual goals then reporting relevant details to case managers or healthcare admins.
• Mobility Assistance: Helping clients with mobility, including bed or wheelchair transfers and lifting.

Qualifications

• Experience: Has experience as a Direct Support Professional / DSP is preferred.
• Certifications: Has formal training or certification supporting individuals with disabilities, and a CPR certification
• Compassion and Empathy: Has the genuinely desire to help others and a compassionate approach to caregiving.
• Reliability and Punctuality: Has a strong work ethic and ability to maintain a consistent schedule.
• Reliable Transportation: Must hold a valid driving license. Ideally, candidates should have their own vehicle with insurance, though a company car is available for work-related errands and client visits.
• Availability: Full-time or Part-time, at least Monday to Friday, and during day shift hours (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
• Education: Must have at least high school diploma or equivalent GED

Compensation

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
