The coordinator is responsible for managing patient flow between the ambulatory surgery unit, operating room, and Endoscopy prep/recovery units. This includes communicating schedule updates, delays, or alterations to patients and families, and collaborating with providers on scheduling to prevent delays.
Candidates must possess a high school education or GED and have a minimum of two years of experience working directly with patients. Essential functions require strong communication, organizational, and time management skills to coordinate surgical and endoscopic schedules effectively.
Responsible for communicating with the ambulatory surgery unit and the operating room in regards to the flow of the surgical patients. Responsible for communicating with the Endoscopy prep and recovery unit in regard to the flow of the Endoscopy patients. Communicates with patients and families to keep them updated related to the progression of the surgical/endoscopic schedule and notifies of any delays or alterations in the schedule. Collaborates with providers and clinic schedulers regarding patient scheduling to prevent patient delays. Education, License & Cert: High school education or GED required.
