The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, recording medical and social history, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record. Under supervision, they will also perform general medical services like medication administration and various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Successful candidates must possess a High School diploma or G.E.D. and have graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, along with current certification (NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA, or CCMA), or two years of relevant experience which requires future certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is also required or must be obtained within three months of hire.
