The psychiatrist will conduct medication management, psychiatric evaluations, create treatment plans, and provide oversight for medical residents and fellows within an acute care setting, participating in an established call schedule.
Candidates must be licensed as an MD or DO specializing in psychiatry, preferably board-certified, and a graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program. Experience in geropsychiatry and previous work in another licensed hospital are preferred.
Rogers Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join our Adult treatment center team. We are seeking an individual with geropsychiatry experience to support our newest program at our Brown Deer campus. Rogers Adult teams offer both inpatient and residential levels of care. Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, dietitians and mental health technicians are committed to providing compassionate, effective care for those diagnosed with mental disorders. Our treatment programs are tailored to the unique needs of the patients to provide the best outcomes for every patient. This role is within our acute care setting, and has 24/7 care, with call being distributed equally amongst the medical staff.
Physical/Mental Demands: Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict. Ability to use initiative and judgement to organize, plan activities, formulate policies, delegate responsibility and make decisions affecting diagnosis and treatment of patients. Must be able to relate to people in a manner to win their confidence and establish rapport. Must be flexible to adjust to changing conditions, programs and various details of the position. Verbal and hearing ability required to interact with patients and employees. Numerical ability required to maintain records and operation a computer. Must be able to read and communicate through written, verbal and auditory skills and abilities. Position requires walking, sitting and standing. Work is performed inside the building and is physically light. Lifting is moderate; must be capable of lifting a minimum of 20 pounds. Reaching, handling, grasping and manual dexterity are necessary to operate various office equipment. Physically/Mentally able to perform job duties as verified by a physical exam by a licensed physician, per post-employment Physical Education/Training Requirements: Be licensed in the state as an MD or DO with specialization in psychiatry Board-eligible physician. Board certification preferred Graduate of an accredited college or university and medical school. Successful completion of a GME accredited residency and/or fellowship program, if working with children additional residency with this age group must have been obtained. Previous work or moonlighting experience working as a psychiatrist in another licensed hospital, preferred Leadership and/ or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization is preferred. Experience with process improvement implementation preferred.
