The Neurodiagnostic Technologist 2 is responsible for performing test setups, applying electrodes, and ensuring patient safety during significant events, while maintaining complete and accurate patient preparation and data acquisition. This role requires adherence to policies, infection control guidelines, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal operational capabilities.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Essential requirements include knowledge of neuroanatomy, electronics, and the ability to demonstrate advanced pattern recognition and troubleshooting skills, along with maintaining Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Job Summary The Neurodiagnostic Technologist 2 will perform test setup, apply electrodes, and maintain patient safety during significant events and other duties. Essential Functions of the Role Accountable for complete and accurate patient preparation, data acquisition, testing and providing a safe testing environment. Complies with policies and procedures. Adheres to infection control and safety guidelines. Protects and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensures a safe work and care environment for self and patients. Observes proper body mechanics while performing work area duties and patient care. Tailors methods for instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations and test findings. Shows knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, and computer skills. Understands END instrumentation, pattern recognition, and medical and pharmacological conditions affecting EEG recording. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate action in an emergent situation. Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Will troubleshoot to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Is available for On Call as assigned. Key Success Factors Demonstrates advanced knowledge of pattern recognition, artifact troubleshooting and identification, seizure precautions, and first aid. Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must relate professionally and positively. Work cooperatively with patients, families, and employees at all levels. Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, electronic medical documentation, and email. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time under stressful conditions while performing properly and effectively. Able to stay calm and helpful under stress. EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
