The Admixture Technician performs nonjudgmental technical aspects of medication preparation under direct physician supervision, including compounding and admixing drugs accurately and timely according to guidelines. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, inventory control, calculating dosages, and assisting with cleaning and quality assurance activities.
The senior level requires a minimum of five to seven years of pharmacy experience with IV skills, and an oncology background or extensive IV preparation experience is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement, though completion of an ASHP accredited program is recommended.
