Coordinates all aspects of patient care within an Urgent Care setting under the supervision of licensed medical providers. Responsibilities include performing clinical tasks, managing medical equipment, and handling lab and radiology orders.
Requires graduation from a Medical Assistant program or completion of one year of a formal RN program. A current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.
Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.
