The Central Monitor Tech is primarily responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms and promptly notifying the nurse of any changes observed across 41 rhythm channels in a central location. Additionally, the role involves assuming responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations, including clerical and specific patient care activities, as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN).
Candidates must possess a high school education or GED equivalent, along with completion of an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course, or currently be enrolled in an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN). Required certifications include BLS, completion of a Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days, and passing a Strip Identification Test within 30 days of hire, with previous Unit Secretary experience being preferred.
