The role involves performing various patient care and administrative support functions under direct supervision in an inpatient or outpatient setting, assisting patients with personal care for optimal recovery. Responsibilities include performing basic nursing skills as delegated and ensuring a safe environment and delivery of care.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is the minimum education required, with no prior experience necessary. Candidates must possess an AHA BLS Certification and meet specific criteria to practice as a Nurse Aide in Virginia, which may involve completing a PCT program, having recent PCT experience, or passing a national certification exam.
