Individuals in this role are responsible for collecting assessment data, contributing to the nursing process, and documenting care activities according to OSUMC standards to ensure safe, efficient, and quality patient care. The Senior Nurse Extern must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
This is a position for nursing students who have completed their junior year in a college of nursing and must utilize principles of growth and development across the lifespan for age-specific patient needs. Candidates must pass the OK RN boards within six months of program completion and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
