The Medical Social Worker will establish care plans aligned with the physician's treatment, provide necessary crisis intervention, and assist caregivers by addressing social, emotional, and economic factors affecting patient recovery. Responsibilities also include patient/caregiver education and making appropriate community referrals for resources like housing or public assistance.
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree from a CSWE-approved school and hold current state licensure, along with one year of social work experience in a healthcare setting. A current CPR/BLS certification is also mandatory, and Indiana applicants require specific certification under IC25-23.6-4-3.
Master’s degree from an accredited school approved by the Council on Social Work Education. In Indiana, must also be certified under IC25-23.6-4-3. Currently licensed to practice in the state serviced. One year social work experience in a health care setting.
