The Orthopaedic Surgicalist will provide emergency and inpatient orthopaedic services, including hospital and ER-based emergency call and follow-up services for a Level III Trauma facility. This role requires focusing on excellent person-centered care for rural patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates must possess a Medical degree and have successfully completed an ACGME or AOA approved postgraduate training program in orthopaedic surgery, meeting ABOS board certification requirements. Preferred candidates will have two or more years of practice in orthopaedic trauma surgery and must maintain an unrestricted Washington State medical license.

DESCRIPTION: Olympic Medical Physicians’ Orthopaedic team provides orthopaedic services to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. OMP Orthopaedic team seeks team-oriented Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide services for this Level III Trauma facility.
Highlights of the practice include: --This position is supported by first-call response by orthopaedic PA-C or ARNP. --Integrated electronic healthcare record system (EPIC) with local and regional hospital systems --Robust orthopaedic clinic system for patient follow-up The successful Orthopaedic Physician at OMP is focused on providing excellent person-centered care to rural patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. EDUCATION Medical degree from an accredited school required. Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA approved postgraduate training program in orthopaedic surgery. Successful completion of requirements of the ABOS board for certification in orthopaedic surgery. Maintains appropriate Continuing Medical Education credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements. EXPERIENCE Completion of orthopaedic surgery residency. Two or more years of practice in orthopaedic trauma surgery preferred. LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS Board certified or active participant in the examination process leading to certification [specialty] and area of sub-specialty (if any). Recertifies at appropriate intervals per specialty board requirements. Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington. Maintains current DEA registration. Maintains current BLS certification. Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff.
