The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely and accurately administering prescribed medications to residents in a nursing home under licensed nursing staff supervision. This includes verifying orders, monitoring residents for adverse reactions, and accurately documenting all administration activities.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent along with a Certification of Medication Aide program, and meet any necessary state-specific requirements. Additional requirements include the ability to communicate effectively and provide proof of valid driver's license and auto liability insurance if driving is required for assignments.
