Category: Allied HealthJob Summary Responsible for all respiratory care modalities for preemie, neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, SVN, Incentive Spirometry, Chest PT, critical care, ventilator management, airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Responsible for obtaining and analyzing arterial and venous blood gas samples, cord and capillary gases, must be able to interpret the results as well as maintain analyzer. Responsible for all EKG procedures. LRCP will deliver services according to the Scope of Service for the Cardiopulmonary Department. Essential Functions 1. Testing Procedures
Trained in the performance of all basic treadmill stress tests, including Echo, Bruce, and Nuclear test
Holter/ Event monitor set ups and registration
Overnight oximeters set up and registration 2. Departmental Duties
Assure that all daily charges are recorded including daily oxygen and pulse oximeter charges
Maintain proper documentation and appropriate use of electronic documentation systems
Coordinates schedules with other techs in the department. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to assist others as requested.
Regularly assists in other areas of the department such as receptionist duties, clerical responsibilities and other assignments as requested. 3. Equipment Care/Maintenance
Cleans and assembles non-disposable equipment as outlined in department policy.
Cleans and restocks EKG machines located throughout the hospital.
Routinely performs a pre-operation check on ventilators in the department to check for proper function and records that a check was completed.
Performs quality control measures as well as preventative maintenance on ABG instruments as outlined in department policy.
Checks crash carts located in the department as well as O2 tanks throughout the hospital.
Responsible for all equipment used in the department, reports malfunctions and regularly practices preventative maintenance procedures. Keeps work area clean and sanitary. Disinfects all exposed surfaces.

Required:
Associate degree required
Preferred: NBRC preferred, RRT or CRT and Bachelor's degree in health science preferred.

Experience
Required: Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required;
Preferred: At least two to five years respiratory care practitioner experience preferred but new graduates will be considered. Basic computer skills preferred.

Licenses: Current Wyoming LRCP and BLS certification required. Current ACLS, NRP required within 6 months of hire. Functional Demands Working Conditions Frequent stressful situations, irregular hours. hospital and Nursing Home environment. Must be on-site at the St. John's Health campus or other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. Physical Requirements Some stretching, bending, reaching pushing/pulling related to assisting patients and moving equipment. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Intermittent standing, sitting and walking, and computer use.
