The CRNA administers anesthetics and adjunctive medications, monitors patients under anesthesia, and initiates corrective actions based on professional judgment and established protocols. Responsibilities also encompass preoperative assessment, anesthetic management, post-anesthesia care, and functioning as a team member, including leadership and educational duties.
Candidates must graduate from accredited schools of nursing and anesthesia, hold national CRNA certification, and possess Michigan licenses for registered nursing and specialty certification in anesthesia. A Master's degree in anesthesia or a related area is preferred.
