The technologist performs electroencephalography (EEG) and long-term monitoring (LTM) on adult and pediatric patients, preparing equipment and supporting advanced staff during neurodiagnostic studies. Responsibilities also include monitoring patients undergoing critical care EEG, alerting the care team for STAT responses to seizures, annotating recordings, and performing equipment troubleshooting.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited neurodiagnostic program preferred. Experience of three to four years in a patient care function like PSG, EMT, PCA, or CNA is required, and national board certification in EEG must be achieved within two years of hire.
