Pharmacists evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness, making therapy change recommendations, and maintaining comprehensive patient databases including medical history and lab data. They also implement policies for the safe handling, storage, distribution, and disposal of drugs while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Candidates are required to possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and a current state license to practice, along with knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations. A Pharm D and one year of retail pharmacy experience are preferred, as are multi-state licenses.
