The technologist will perform quality ultrasound exams using appropriate technical skills and protocols while providing excellent patient care, safety, and education during procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation in computer systems and presenting technical findings to radiologists or cardiologists.
Candidates must successfully complete an accredited Ultrasound Program and possess either the RDCS or RCS credential, or be registry eligible with certification within one year of hire, along with current CPR certification. Required abilities include effective communication, strong customer service skills, teamwork, and proficiency with specific ultrasound modalities and equipment.
The Impact You Can Make Team Impact The Echo/Ultrasound technologist will work directly with radiologists and cardiologist to perform a variety of ultrasound procedures that require judgment and ingenuity while responding to any of the patient’s special, physical, emotional, spiritual and/or age-specific related needs. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Performs quality ultrasound exams with the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure protocols. Provides for appropriate patient care, safety, education, and a favorable customer service experience during procedures. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient records especially in the Radiology Information System and PACS (computer systems) to meet operating standards, corporate compliance practices, and/or regulatory and accreditation requirements. Presents appropriate filming and technical findings of ultrasound scans to the radiologist/cardiologist. Collaborates and participates in department related projects and/or teams focused on improvement opportunities as needed. Performs other related operational duties as needed including, but not limited to, transporting patients, office/clerical functions, equipment troubleshooting, maintaining supplies in rooms, and cleaning ultrasound equipment. Education/Accredited Programs Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Program Licenses/Certifications/Registrations RDCS Credential with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or RCS Credential with Cardiovascular Credentialing International. OR Registry eligible with the above organization and certification within 1 year of hire (new graduates) CPR certification Skills/Abilities Ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and physicians. Ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of people. Ability to promote and work in a team setting. Possess strong skills: Transthoracic, Stress, and Transesophageal experience Ultrasound/Echo machine experience, GE and Philips 2D, MMode, Color Doppler, PW/CW, 3D proficient Ability to problem solve and work independently Computer/phone skills
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $37.07 to $55.61 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
