The Mobile Crisis Therapist will provide urgent care response to children, adolescents, and their families through referrals from the 988 National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing therapeutic services, and collaborating with crisis team members to resolve crises.
Candidates must have a Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related discipline, along with current licensure in Maryland. Experience with high acuity clients in mental health crisis is preferred, and candidates should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Provide mobile/urgent care response to children, adolescents and their families living in Baltimore City through referrals from 988 (National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) via telephone consultation/triage and face-to-face community response. Provide therapeutic services for individuals in crisis who are experiencing mental and behavioral health events including substance use and/or withdrawal. Conduct behavioral health assessments for individuals in crisis. Collaborate with other crisis team members in order to resolve the crisis through appropriate interventions, counseling, and de-escalation. Refer individuals to emergency rooms, outpatient facilities, etc. for the appropriate care as determined through the assessment process. Provide post crisis follow-up support, as needed, including connecting children and families to community resources and services to meet their ongoing needs. Conduct outreach and ongoing collaboration with child and family serving providers and system partners (school, DSS, etc.) Respect the confidentiality of clients and follow all HIPPA guidelines. Attend monthly department meetings. Complete any required trainings as mandated by ABH or under the Mobile Crisis team program. Respond to communication (phone, email, text) from clients and families, referral sources, and ABH staff within 24 hours or the next business day. Comply with CARF/COMAR/HIPPA/State compliance regulations. Comply with EMR and uphold the 48-hour documentation standard.
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline. Current licensure in the state of Maryland (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC) is required. Experience working with high acuity clients in mental health crisis is preferred. Must have ability to handle highly charged stressful and emotional situations. Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with proof of current automobile insurance. Ability to manage, delegate and manage multiple tasks. Ability to travel. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the practices service population. Empathy and Compassion. Excellent customer service, listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Responsible, reliable and punctual. Must demonstrate understanding of managed care concepts and willingness to provide treatment and work within that system.
