The role involves counseling, assisting, and training individuals with developmental disabilities in essential life skills such as personal care, travel, social interaction, and home management to maximize community functioning. Essential functions include maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment, monitoring client health continuously, assisting with household chores, and performing protective oversight during community activities.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and preferably have a minimum of one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled population, ideally in a residential or health-related setting. Required certifications include obtaining OPWDD Approved Medication Administration (AMAP) during the probationary period, and the ability to become certified in First Aid, CPR, and SCIPR Competencies.
