The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist will provide comprehensive anesthesia care for patients undergoing general surgery, encompassing preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative pain control. This role requires close collaboration with surgical teams and continuous monitoring of patient vital signs, with the ability to adjust anesthetic plans and respond to critical emergencies.
Candidates must possess an active Michigan APRN license, National Board Certification as a CRNA, and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, along with a minimum of one year of CRNA experience. Educational requirements include a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
Active Michigan licensure Board certification AHA BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 1-year CRNA experience or equivalent Job Responsibilities (Generalized): Provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management and postoperative pain management Collaborate with surgeons, surgical teams and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic plans as needed Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions Maintain accurate and complete medical records Stay current on the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education Skills: Clinical expertise and technical proficiency in administering various anesthesia techniques Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a surgical team Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing patient conditions Strong work ethic, stamina and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited CRNA program Licenses & Certifications: Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Michigan National certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Re-certification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA) Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum CRNA positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical anesthesia setting
