The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant performs established nursing care procedures and miscellaneous related duties as assigned by nursing leadership. Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, maintaining required documentation, assembling case carts, and managing inventories according to established standards.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with one year of experience in Central Service or as an Endoscopy Technician. Candidates must obtain certification as a Registered Central Service Technician or Surgical Technician and as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor within one year, in addition to holding current AHA BLS certification.

The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant is responsible for performing established nursing care procedures for individuals and performs miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned by the RN, Charge Nurse, and Manager Nursing/Patient Care. The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant is responsible for performing decontamination, sterilization, maintaining required documentation, assembling case carts, and maintaining inventories using recommended standards of the Michigan Department of Public Health, the Joint Commission, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management. The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant works under the direction of the Manager Nursing/Patient Care
