The EKG/Telemetry Tech is responsible for testing, observing, monitoring, and interpreting patients' EKG rhythms. This role functions as a member of the Patient Care Team, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. EKG training must be completed upon hire, and strong communication and analytical skills are required.
The EKG/Telemetry Tech functions as a member of the Patient Care Team. The EKG/Telemetry Tech is responsible for testing, observing, monitoring, and interpreting patients EKG rhythms in conjunction with the established departmental policies and procedures. Duties may vary slightly by assigned shift.
Education: Associates Degree Experience: EKG or direct patient care experience Other requirements/information: Work requires ability to read, write and communicate effectively with other members of the Patient Care Team, in person, by telephone and computer messaging, at a level generally acquired through completion of a high school education. Analytical ability necessary to prioritize own work load to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Completing and Passing EKG class, as well as passing EKG competency every 12 months.
