Provide safe basic care to oncology patients, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities. Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure continuity of care and provide constant supervision when necessary.
Requires CNA certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A high school diploma and six months of clinical healthcare experience are preferred.

Within Oncology Acute, we encompass a spectrum of specialties, including medical, radiation, gynecologic, and surgical oncology. As a dynamic unit, we regularly administer various treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, nuclear medicine, and blood transfusions. The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
