The Independent Living Coach fosters meaningful relationships, promotes learning based on respect, and supports individuals in achieving priority outcomes identified in their person-centered plans. Responsibilities include facilitating daily routines, assisting with personal care, household chores, meal preparation, and providing transportation to various activities and appointments.
Candidates must possess a valid High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license with minimal traffic violations, and must pass a reading literacy assessment prior to employment. No prior experience is necessary as training is provided, but a genuine desire to make a positive impact and a strong sense of responsibility are key.
$22.80-$23.50 / hour
The Independent Living Coach (ILC) helps adults with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness who receive services from Trinity Services, Inc. The ILC provides support and guidance to individuals in their homes and community programs, with the goal of encouraging them to learn new skills and become more independent. ILCs are essential in helping individuals set and achieve their personal goals, building their confidence and self-sufficiency.
The role involves a variety of tasks, including but not limited to assisting with personal care, household chores, medical monitoring, and addressing health care needs. ILCs also motivate, encourage, and coach individuals throughout their daily activities to help them thrive. This position requires empathy, patience, and a willingness to work closely with people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness, helping them to develop life skills and enhance their quality of life.
No prior experience in the field is necessary; we provide training and support to help you succeed in this rewarding role. A genuine desire to make a positive impact in people's lives and a strong sense of responsibility are key qualities for this position. The ILC is a vital part of our team, helping individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness lead fulfilling, independent lives within their communities.
Trinity Services offers paid training to employees in all positions. Required trainings include Preservice, CPR/FA, Safety Care, Prevention of Abuse and Neglect, Sexual Harassment, and Behavior Support and Implementation Strategy training specific to the person receiving services. Additional training may be required or offered based on position, work location, or other extenuating circumstances.
