The Peer Support Specialist acts as a representative and advocate for youth and their families receiving behavioral health treatment within the in-CIRCLE, PMHC, and Day Treatment programs. This role involves supporting families' emotional well-being using personal experience, maintaining communication across various stakeholders, and providing educational support initiatives.
Applicants must be a certified parent/caregiver who has raised a child with a behavioral or substance use disability and whose child has received mental health services. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to successfully complete the Department of Mental Health Certified Peer Specialist training and certification exam.
