The counselor will provide addiction and substance abuse counseling services under clinical and medical direction, establishing positive relationships with patients and participating in departmental Quality Improvement activities. Key duties include performing pre-screening/admissions, managing an active caseload, developing individual treatment plans, and maintaining accurate, confidential patient records.
Candidates must be able to understand medical/psychiatric terminology, communicate effectively with diverse populations, and prepare appropriate service plans. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and mandatory CASAC Certification by NYS OASAS, with a Bachelor's degree being preferred.
Overview Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and medical direction form the Chief Physician, will provide counseling services in determining and assisting in the resolution of addiction and substance abuse.
