The Milieu Therapist assists patients in meeting their bio-psycho-social needs through therapeutic skills to achieve optimal emotional health, providing services like consultation, specialized clinical services, and crisis intervention. Responsibilities also include managing treatment activities, treatment planning, interfacing with the physician-led team, and providing psychotherapeutic groups and activities.
A Master’s degree in social work, mental health, or a related field is required, along with one year of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric setting, including patient assessment and treatment planning. Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCSW, MFT, or Licensed Psychologist) is preferred, and candidates must complete CPI training within 90 days.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a related field required.
One year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting and experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities is required.
