The technician assists in preparing patients and the endoscopy suite, providing necessary equipment, and supporting the physician during endoscopy procedures. Key duties also involve collecting and handling patient specimens, ensuring high-level disinfection/sterility of instruments, and maintaining inventory.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and have one year of experience working specifically as an Endoscopy Technician, along with successful completion of a Basic Life Support provider program. Essential abilities include reading/writing English, interpreting instructions, effective communication, physical stamina for long periods of standing and lifting, and basic mathematical skills.
