The Ophthalmic Technician supports clinical operations by preparing patients for exams, performing various ophthalmic tests, assisting physicians with procedures, and administering medications as directed. This role also involves maintaining clinical environments, managing inventory, and processing prescription refill requests.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of relevant experience or training, with prior Ophthalmic Technician experience strongly preferred. Required competencies include proficiency with computers and EMR systems, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.

UBMD Ophthalmology / Ross Eye Institute is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations across our ophthalmology practices. The Ophthalmic Technician provides direct clinical support to physicians by preparing patients for exams, performing ophthalmic testing, assisting with procedures, administering medications as directed, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role is ideal for a candidate with prior medical or ophthalmic experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty setting and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.
This position requires travel between three practice locations in Buffalo, Amherst, and Orchard Park, NY based on scheduling and operational needs.
